On September 13, 2025, the European Commission held the third meeting of the strategic dialogue on the automotive sector. This meeting aimed to engage with industry stakeholders regarding the reopening of the review clause following the adoption of the CO2 regulation in 2023.
In this context, this Friday the European Commission announced new discussions on this matter, with particular work on the trajectory of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and the creation of an additional category of small electric vehicles.
In this month of September, eight national associations of automotive distribution and services in Europe (Mobilians (FR), AKL (Finland), ARAN (Portugal), AutoBranchen (Denmark), BOVAG (Netherlands), GANVAM (Spain), Traxio (Belgium), ZDK (Germany)) officially formed the association Automotive Mobility Europe (AME), which aims to represent these stakeholders within the framework of dialogue with European policymakers in Brussels.
AME intends to actively participate in the future work launched as part of the review clause.
